Starlings is a founding Director of East African Tax Consulting. He is a member of the Law
Society of Kenya, Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Kenya), Institute of Certified
Public Accountants (Rwanda) and the Professional Trainers Association (Kenya).
He began his career as a professional tax advisor at KPMG Kenya in 2007 after attaining
a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma
in Law from the Kenya School of Law (KSL) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
qualifications from Strathmore University.
At KPMG Kenya, he provided clients in diverse industries with direct and indirect tax
advisory services including tax compliance, tax planning, Transfer Pricing policy
development and implementation, mergers and acquisitions advisory and tax dispute
resolution.
Starlings later served as a Tax Manager with PKF East Africa in Kenya and Rwanda. He
helped clients to identify strategic and operational tax opportunities across different
jurisdictions and implement them for greater returns on investments to the stakeholders.
At East African Tax Consulting, Starlings leads a team of tax, financial and legal advisors
in providing personalized, specialized and practical services. His certifications in
advanced taxation from the UK enable him to provide quality services to EATC clientele.
Starlings charitable activities include supporting needy students at Alliance High School
through the Alliance High School Old Boy’s Club and mentoring young professionals
through the Ustadi Training Foundation.
